DIAMOND PASSING INTRO
Players Needed: 6-10 Duration: 2-4 Minutes each Direction How To: To start the exercise you (Player 1) pass to the player to your left (player 2) aiming for his left foot, this player pops his hips open with one touch of the ball and plays the ball to the player to his left (player 3). Player 3 now lays the ball back to player 2 and begins making a bent run around his triangle to the player to his left (player 4). Player 2 then passes to player 4 using the same hips facing one direction, playing the other direction, across body pass worked on in the Triangle Training: Advanced section. Player 4 lays the ball off to player 3 who runs on to it and plays a hard ball on the ground back to player 1's original position. Everyone rotates to their left.

Going to the Left- Player 1 passes a hard ball on the ground forward to player 3s feet and runs toward him to support his pass. Player 3 lays the ball back to player 1 who passes one touch to player 2 to his left. Player 2 then passes to player 3 and begins to make a run in behind his triangle. Player 2 must try to receive the ball in between the triangles that are 15 yd. apart and the triangles that are 10 yd. apart. Player 2 then needs to dribble and do some kind of fake, feint or move to beat the 10 yd. apart triangle as if it is a defender, and return the ball back to player 1 position. |
Going to the Right- Next player in player 1 position can already have a second ball ready and when player 2 is dribbling at the triangle, player 1 passes a hard ball on the ground to player 3 and runs toward him to support his pass. Player 3 lays the ball back to player 1 who passes one touch to player 4 to his right. Player 4 then passes to player 3 and begins to make a run in behind his triangle. Player 4 must try to receive the ball in between the triangles that are 15 yd. apart and the triangles that are 10 yd. apart. Player 4 then needs to dribble and do some kind of fake, feint or move to beat the 10 yd. apart triangles as if it is a defender, and return the ball back to player 1 position.
